It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gayla Jean Donahue of Collinsville, Illinois, who passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lawrence and Spiller; her husband William J. Donahue; her sons, Ryan Donahue and Derrick Trexler; her daughter-in-law Diona Trexler; her grandson Anakin Trexler; her sister-in-law Roberta "Bobbi" Wellman; her nephews, Ronnie and Robert; her sister Janet Bostian Newgent; Mike Bostian.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Barry Wilson Funeral Home (2800 N Center St, Maryville, IL 62062). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
In lieu of flowers the family asks to make a donation to: Thoracic Oncology Research / Dr. Govindan Washington University. The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital in support of cancer research.
