He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Boehnke and Esther Boehnke (White); his wife Grace; and his siblings, Ernie, Faye, Elmore, Phyllis, Joyce, Iris and Neal.

He is survived by: his children, Duane Virgil Boehnke (Jeannie), Joseph Paul Boehnke and Stacy Lee. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter, his church family, and additional family and friends.
