He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrik Kolner and Thora Kolner (Finholt); his granddaughter Christie Alexis; and his siblings, Astrid, Elsie, Gracie and Ruthie.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Whisonant; his children, Christine M. Bugno (Terry), Thomas F. Kolner (Terri) and Laura E. Simeon; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Olivia, Thomas, Colleen, Karyn, Jon and Jessica. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry.
