He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Wiersum and Anna Wiersum (Bebingh); his wife Mary Jane Aughenbaugh; and his brothers, John, Edward and Bernard.

He is survived by: his children, Edward (Pamela), Susan and Sharon; his brother Jacob; his grandchildren, Cassandra, James, Thomas, Samantha, Max and Dean; and his great grandchild Zoe.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
