He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur Cooling and Alice Holland Cooling; his wife Charlotte "Ettie" Mary Betts; his sons, David Cooling (Denise) of Mattoon, IL, Donald Cooling (Veda) of St. Joseph, IL and Philip Cooling of Decatur, IL; his grandchildren, Ryan Cooling (Margaret) of Marion, IL, Sarah Morrisson (Keith) of Charleston, IL, Lindsey Loschen (Ryan) of Ogden, IL, Shelley Krumwiede (Drew) of Paxton, IL, Corey Cooling of Decatur, Andrew Cooling of Decatur and Nicholas Cooling (Danielle) of Decatur; and his sister Joyce "Pat" Kruskop of Virginia Beach, VA. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts to the memorial fund of St. John's Episcopal Church or a charity of donor's choice.
