He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Long and Helen Long (Huhta); his brother Jerry; and his pet Red. He is survived by: his wife Jodi; his daughter Lori; his brother Chuck; his sister-in-law Pam (Brian); and his grandchildren, Claudia, Alicia and James. He is also survived by cousins and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the DeKalb County Veterans Assistance Commission, in honor of Jim.
