He was predeceased by: his parents, John Smith and Violet Smith (Gittelson); and his siblings, LaVerne, Galen Smith and Donna Gifford.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Smith; his children, Lori Smith of Grapevine, Lisa Sullivan (Jeff) of Aurora, Lana McDaniel of Aurora, Colorado, Justin Bend (Deirdre) of DeKalb and Colin Bend of Sycamore; and his brother Richard Smith. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
