He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond and Eleanor; his grandson Sammy; his sibling Shirley Thurm; and his niece Susan.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his son James Letzkus Jr. (Jamie); his grandchildren, Kristen, Tony and Nikki; his great grandchild Isaac Noyes; and his sibling's children, Sandra, Charlie, David, Billy and William.
