He was predeceased by : his father Floyd Wert. He is survived by : his mother Dixie Marshall Wert; his children, Rianne Wert, Randy L. Wert and Tim Wert (Ivonne); his grandchildren, Gunnar and Dallis Wert; and his brothers, Rick Wert (Cindy) and Mike Wert.

The family suggests memorials to be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
