With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rose Mary McGathey of East Hazel Crest, Illinois, born in Topeka, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard H. "Dick" McGathey; her parents, Angelina Gonzalez and Victor Gonzalez; and her sister Mary Rose Rodriguez (late Ralph). She is survived by: her children, Richard McGathey (Pam), Ramon McGathey (Nancy), Monica Elsey (Matthew), Anna Marie White (John), Ronald McGathey (Brenda), Virginia McGathey, Victoria Kiehl (Michael), Cpt Randolph McGathey (Jill) and Rose Mary Pope (Daniel); and her siblings, Shirley Garcia (late Frank), Louis Gonzalez (Carole), A. Augustine Gonzalez (late Cheryl), Dolores "Lola" Ortiz (Jesus), Linda Umstattd, Christine Callahan (late Robert), Victor Gonzalez (late Betty) and Lucille Tijerina (late Gabriel).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St Anne Church (16801 Dixie Hwy, Hazel Crest, IL 60429). The lying in state will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
