She was loved and cherished by many people including : her father Henry; her aunt Ella (Luella); her brother Harry Milton; her grandson Samuel Lee; her grandmother Delores; her godparents, Vernon Reid, Alan Faulkner, Jeanne Faulkner, Heather Lee, Dr. Calvin and Willie Dorothy Lee; her daughters, Harriet Jackson Lewis and Virgina Jackson; her nieces and nephews, Adolphs, Robinsons, Calverts, Gregorys, Hudsons, Huggans, Thorntons, Owens and Critons; her cousins, Crocketts and Simms; her husband Lee; her nieces, Missy Cason, Harriet Lewis (Joe), Virgina Jackson and Maggie Nash; her cousins, Rebia Kenney, Felecia Kenney Brown, Cheryl McKinney, Mark Kenney, Sam Harris, Charles Bozeman Jr. and Pamela Greer; her close friends, Shirley Reid and Mary Bobbit; her godson Jeff Reid (Jeff); her grandfather Harry Berry; her stepsisters, Dorothy Jackson and Jane Payne; her parents-in-law, Lois and Rev. Warren Hudson Sr.; her aunts and uncles, Luella, Jim Turner, Rosalee Martin, Corrine, Charles Bozeman, Teresa Springer and Oscar Berry; her daughter Gail Hudson Hankins; her grandson Samuel Hankins III; her brother Harry Jackson; and also, Shirley, Maxwell, Roy, Laura Bowman, Leathie, Ralph Scott, Charlie, Lillian Johnson, Pauline, Lewis Lyons, Charles Scott, Tony Scott, Karen Cross, Arlesia Duffy, Delora Jackson, Stacey Jones, Gerard Preston and Paul'Corky'Hursey Jr.. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Officer Funeral Home (2114 Missouri Ave, East St Louis, IL 62205). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church (4268 Piggott Ave, East St Louis, IL 62207). A burial was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 12:45 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
