He was predeceased by: his son Richard Orlando Brooks, Jr.; and his parents, Richard Minor Washington Brooks and Bertha Bell Brooks. He is survived by: his daughter Bari Lynne Brooks; his wife Brenda P. Brooks (Bush); his grandson Sky Minor Brooks; and his siblings, Luther Brooks (Jackie), Patricia Willis, Donald Brooks (Carlyn), Charles Brooks and Dennis Brooks. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 10:55 AM at the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church (2240 Missouri Ave, East St Louis, IL 62205). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
