He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Mainer and Goldie Mainer (Lindsey); his son Mark L. Mainer; and his sister Alice Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Long; his children, Christy Mainer of Edwardsville, IL, Cathy Merkel of Edwardsville, IL, David Mainer (Cindi) of St. Petersburg, FL and Danny Mainer of Edwardsville, IL; his daughter-in-law Dorothy Meyer; his grandchildren, Nicky Vaugniaux (Beau), Jimmy Keller (Aubrey), Jessica Schmitz (Joshua), Jenna Merkel, David Loewe, Christopher Gormley and Jessica Gormley; and his siblings, Michael Mainer (Lea) of Lebanon, MO and Mary Louise Moss of Lincoln, IL.. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, Vitas Hospice, or St. Boniface Church.
