It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Roland Capes (Elburn, Illinois), who passed away on September 6, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sterling Capes and Lucile Capes (Meredith); his brother Charlie; his former wife Barbara Meek; his wife Caroline Swanson; his children, Mary Roberts (Vern), Carol Praetorius Capes and Paul Capes (Christine); his grandchildren, Crystal, Serena Berkes, Robert, Charles Praetorius, Justin Adkerson (Kaitlin), Natasha Capes, Savannah Capes and Charles R. "Charlie" Capes II; his great grandchild Alice Adkerson; and his siblings, Don Capes (Mary), Gene Capes and Dean Capes.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Charlie's name.
