She was predeceased by: her parents, Lynn Howard and Mary Howard. She is survived by: her sister Carol Jean; her husband Robert Smid; her children, Kelly Louk, Tracy Kime (Jim), Michelle Keyston (Bruce) and Jason Smid (Tamie Palmer); her siblings, Carol Hare (William) and John Howard (Danielle); and her siblings' children, Jacki Daniel (Isaac) and Jonathan Howard. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren, many great-nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

In lieu of a service and flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the SPCA in her honor, or any bird sanctuary.
