It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frederick J. Steffen of Elgin, Illinois, who passed away on December 25, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Steffen; and his siblings, Anne Carroll, Barbara Phelps and Garth Steffen. He is survived by: his children, Julie (Detlev Pansch), John (Kerry Kelly) and Bob (Ketki Shroff); his grandchildren, Joan, Chloe, Lili, Abby, Nika, Alyssa, Liam and Tristan; his siblings, Nate, Grant Steffen, Lorna Schrock and Ellie Hanchett; and his pet Willow.
To carry on his legacy, contributions may be donated in his name to the Elgin Community Crisis Center and the Anderson Animal Shelter.
