She was predeceased by: her parents, Benito Chapa and Irene Chapa; and her siblings, Juan and Dora. She is survived by: her husband Ted; her sons, Christopher (Laurel) and Aaron (Suzanne); her grandchildren, Zoey and Lincoln; and her siblings, Sara Chapa, Felix Chapa and Balta Chapa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to Journey of Hope.
