He was predeceased by: his parents, Perfecto Nieves and Gertudris Acevedo. He is survived by: his children, Auria Gonzalez, Andrea Cruz, Santa Gonzalez, Miguel Nieves, Adalberta Nieves, Margie Yacoub, Carmen M. Nieves, Miriam Nieves, Armando Nieves, Orlando Nieves and Minerva Ares. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 59 Great Granchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made out to the Nieves family.
