She was predeceased by : her parents, Alma Lewis James and Percy C. James; her sisters, Sarah Beach James and Olive Davis; her son John Holforty; her brother Percy James; and her friend Harlan Wessels.

She is survived by : her sister Phoebe James Crimmins (Jim) of Augusta, GA; and her children, Jim Holforty (Nancy) of Protem, MO, Jerry Holforty of Edisto Island, SC, Julia Holforty Travis (Larry) of Glendale, AZ and Sarah J. Holforty of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
