He was loved and cherished by many people including : his father Grover C.; his wife Lois Mae Fitzgerald; his daughter Jo Lynne Berger; his siblings, Clarence, Ralph Simpson, Paulette Bazzell, Rowena Steidinger, Ethel Luttrell, Lucille Hicks and Nina Kidby; and his grandchildren, Whitney Beyer (Raymond) of Minot, ND, Robert Berger (Valari) of Milan, IL and Charles Berger (Mandi) of Drake, ND. He was also cherished by eleven great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
