He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mutchek and Margaret Mutchek (Palansek); his wife Christine Null; his children, Dorothy Mae Pool and Sam Milazzo; and his siblings, Shirley Short, John Mutchek, Sam Mutchek, Bill Mutchek, Ed Mutchek, Charles Mutchek and Tom Mutchek.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Christine Farina (Gary), Larry Pool (Susie) and Kirk Pool; his sister Margaret Armes; and his grandson Brandon McRill of Freeman Spur. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; an adopted daughter.
Military rites will be performed by the Benton American Legion Post 280, VFW Post 2671 and the United States Army Honor Guard.Memorials may be made to the Fin and Feather Club in Freeman Spur, IL, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
