She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Parkinson and Bernice Parkinson (Allen); her former spouse P. J. Nelson; her husband Paul E. Swank; and her brothers, Donald and Merlyn Parkinson.

She is survived by: her son Jeff A. Nelson (Bobbi) of Lewistown; and her grandson Bryan Nelson. She is also survived by grandchild; and two great grandchildren.

She was born May 2, 1934, in Galesburg, the daughter of Fred and Bernice (Allen) Parkinson.
