John Garcia Sr. Obituary
The memory of John Garcia Sr. of Galesburg, Illinois, who passed away on October 13, 2025 at the age of 101, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Refugio Garcia and Lenore Garcia (Nunez); his wife Lulu; and his sister Margarita Ramirez. He is survived by: his children, John Garcia, Jr. of Galesburg and Gloria Specht (Steve) of Galesburg; his grandchildren, Tiffani West (John) of Galesburg, Marco Garcia (Yvette) of Galesburg, Chris Broadhurst (DeAngela), Anthony Broadhurst, Angela Broadhurst, Michael Broadhurst (Cortni) and Lisa Smith (Aaron); his siblings, Cuco Garcia (Willamina) of Veracruz, Mexico and Gloria Guillermo (Angel) of Veracruz, Mexico; and his close friend Lana Basham of Galesburg. He is also survived by twenty-three great grandchildren; and six great- great grandchildren.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory (1849 N Seminary St, Galesburg, IL 61401). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church (273 S Prairie St, Galesburg, IL 61401).
