We are sad to announce that on March 25, 2022, at the age of 88, Marilyn Rose Sargent of Galesburg, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth D. Nelson and Evelyn Nelson (Wilson); her spouse LaVerne Smith; her grandson Jacob Smith; and her brother Dennis.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Smith (Deborah) of Lancaster, Gayle Stephan (Bernard) of Galesburg and Steve Smith (Joan) of Galesburg, Illinois; her stepchildren, Rusty Sargent (Brenda Lytle) of Knoxville and Shari Mahnesmith of Galesburg, Illinois.; her grandchildren, Jarrod Stephan (Linda), Kelly Lopotko (Seth), Joe Smith, Andrew Smith and David Smith; her great grandchildren, Colten, Jackson, Hayden Lopotko and Isabella Smith; her sisters, Illa Purl of Clermont and Shirley Karpowicz of Fort Myers, Florida.; and her close friend Marilyn Putnam.
