With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Kay Chism of Galesburg, Illinois, born in Monmouth, Illinois, who passed away on January 4, 2023 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Cottom and Claudene Cottom (Crocker); her husband Ted R. Chism; and her siblings, Margaret and Harold Dean.
She is survived by: her son T. J. Chism (Jordan) of Newnan, Georgia; her grandchild Blakely Chism; her siblings, Ronald Cottom of Wataga, Martha Peck of Galesburg and Richard Cottom (Pamela) of Jackson; her caregiver Practitioner; and her grandson Chase.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Knoxville Food Pantry or the Knox County Humane Society.
