He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Haven Coleman and Ida Peterson (McKinley Keedle); his wife Marilyn; his children, Jeffrey Coleman (Cynthia) of Littleton, Colorado and Julie Matthews (Dennis) of Lake Barrington, Illinois.; Katherine Coleman-Lazaridis (Stan) of Perth, Australia, John Coleman (Missy) of Denver, Colorado, Charles Haven Coleman II of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Christopher Matthews of Boston, Massachusetts and Lauren Miller (Michael) of Chicago, Illinois.. He was also cherished by two children and grandchildren.
Other civic activities included being Trustee for Galesburg Sanitary District from 1960—1978; President of Soangetaha Country Club 1988-1990; and a member of St. Mary Medical Center Foundation Council for many years.
