Sarkis Younes Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sarkis Younes of Galesburg, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 6, 2025 at the age of 59. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Michel Younes and Jamileh Younes (Sous). He is survived by: his wife Ivete Alwan; his children, Michael, Anthony and Mariana; and his sisters, Claudette Roden, Youmna Cook (Billy) and Antoinette Bohanan.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Sharbel Church (2914 W Scenic Dr, Peoria, IL 61615). A rosary was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church (2914 W Scenic Dr, Peoria, IL 61615). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Sharbel Church (2914 W Scenic Dr, Peoria, IL 61615).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sarkis Younes's family to distribute to his beloved churches throughout the world.
