He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer F. Zessin and Eleanor M. Zessin (McAlister); his wife Amy L. Whitehouse of Yates City; his children, Mary Plumer (Calvin) of Hanna City, Jolene Bruce (John) of Belton, Amanda Holmstrup (Zane) of Albuquerque and Walter Zessin (Meleasha Brown) of Farmington, Illinois; his brothers, Fred Zessin (Linda) of Pekin and Donny Zessin (late Patsy) of Farmington; his grandchildren, Laurel Keyt (Justin), Mattie Plumer, Callie Plumer, Chloe Messersmith, Coitt Messersmith, Ciaran Messersmith, Alex Bruce, John Walter Holmstrup, Walter M. Zessin and Nash Zessin; and his sister Lois Duncan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory (1849 N Seminary St, Galesburg, IL 61401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM.
