He was predeceased by: his son Brent Stapel; and his siblings, Virginia King, Don, Willie and Jerry Stapel.
He is survived by: his children, Milton Stapel (Karen), Kewanee, Evelyn Leedy (David), Myrene Carper, Drinda Milinac (Mike) and DeVicka Wilhite (Bill); his grandchildren, Andy Yarger (Katie), Layne Stapel, Johnny, Hannah Guthrie, Justin (Kaurie), Missie Carper, Ireland, McLaren, Tristen Milinac, Will and Kodie Wilhite; his great grandchild Sarah King; his former wife Vanda Dergins of Buda, IL.; his sister June Lampson of Tacoma, WA; his siblings-in-law, Orville King of Toulon, IL and Audrey Stapel of Toulon; and his nephew Jerry Jr. Stapel (Cindy) of Toulon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; a special godson.
