He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Yerby and Louise Painter Yerby; his sons, Blake and Eric; his great grandchild Judah Kirkham; his siblings, Ray Yerby (Mary) and Ruth Warren (Travice); and his children-in-law, Mark Riggio and Edna Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Speidel Johnson; his daughters, Denise Riggio and Lisa; his grandchildren, Steven Johnson, Bryan Kirkham (Jen), Matt Kirkham (Breanna), Sam Grant, Lilith Yerby, Sydney Grant, Peter Grant and Andrew Johnson; his great grandchildren, Jordan and Kali Kirkham; his grandchildren, Nora, Reagan and Olivia Kirkham; his sister Dr. Corliss O'Bryan; his brother-in-law Phillip Speidel (Jennifer); and his sibling's children, Dr. Gerald O'Bryan, Dee O'Bryan, Brynna Barnica (Roy), Rachael Taylor (Will), Ross Speidel and Laurie Brewer (Allen).
