She was predeceased by : her parents, Gordon W. and Zelma Lee Holler Bane Sr.; her son Rodney; and her sisters, Shirley Benison and Melody Cochran.

She is survived by : her husband Earnest D. Thomas; her children, Kevin Thomas (Joann) of Champaign, Raymond Thomas (Colleen) of Champaign, Aprel Thomas of Champaign and Zelma Dixon (Donald) of New Braunfels, Texas.; her grandchildren, Heather Thomas, James Thomas (Andrea), Jared McLain (Jenelle), Corbin Knight-Dixon (Madeline), Jonathon Thomas, Ryan Thomas, Samantha Thomas and Alec Thomas; and her siblings, Gordon W. Bane Jr. of Bloomington, Barbara Frederick of Birmingham, Patsy Askew (Duane) of Wausau, Carolyn Larson (Richard) of Frankfort and Jan Barnes of Foosland. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
