It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James F. Nichols of Gilson, Illinois, born in Galesburg, Illinois, who passed away on October 24, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick W. Nichols and Floy E. Nichols (Breece); his son Little Mark; his siblings, Robert Nichols and Susan Nichols; and his great grandchild Kelsey.
He is survived by: his wife Anita M. Nelson of Gilson; his children, Kimberly Ann Hasselbacher (Mike) of Galesburg, Michelle Lynn Storm of Dahinda, Mark Jeffery Nichols (Rhonda) of Galesburg, Christopher James Nichols of Knoxville and Matthew Howard Nichols of Gilson; and his brother Gary Nichols of Galesburg. He is also survived by six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p. m. Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg with the rosary prayed at 7 p. m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face masks, social distancing, and limited occupancy will be enforced. Funeral Mass will be 10 a. m. Friday, October 30, 2020 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with COVID-19 restrictions in place.
