With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Velma Ilene Lockwood of Girard, Illinois, born in Moweaqua, Illinois, who passed away on January 4, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, William L. Shewmaker and Lena Shewmaker Johnson (Moss); her husband Cedric W. "Sid" Lockwood; and her daughter-in-law Nancy Lockwood. She is survived by : her children, Sally Noble (John) of Pleasant Plains, Les Lockwood (Darla) of Decatur and Mike Lockwood of Girard; and her grandchildren, Shelley Gray, Brian C. Lockwood (Jodi), Melanie K. Noble, Jeff Lockwood (Erin), Brad Lockwood (Krystle) and Justin J. Noble. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Girard Fire and Rescue in Velma's memory.
