It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Monse Barreto of Glenwood, Illinois, who passed away on January 22, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Geralda Medina and Isidro Ramos of Arecibo; and her siblings, Luz Maria, Enrique, Mario, Juan, Obdulio, Jose, Juana, Antonio, Antonia, Librada and Laura.
She is survived by: her spouse Angel Barreto Sr.; her children, Dianese Schafer and Angel Barreto Jr.; her children-in-law, Joe Schafer and Gloria Barreto; her grandchildren, Govanni McCall of Angel Barreto, III, Ronald Sherrod Jr., Marshall Alcorn Jr., Jazmine Dantzler, Michael Chavez and Melissa Chavez; her great grandchildren, Charles McCall, Abbigail Chavez and Parker Dantzler; and her siblings, Milagros Ramos and Sixto Ramos.
