He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Sommars and Lena Sommars; his wife Edna Griffin; his children, Donna (Carol Grimbsy) of Edwardsville, Wayne (Cathy) of Albuquerque, NM, Patty Goeke (Tony) of Ballwin, MO, Mike (Trena) of Foristell, MO and Teresa Kaczmarek (Gary) of Camdenton, MO; his grandchildren, Nick (Erica), Lauren, Zach, Alex and Hannah; his sister-in-law Florence Griffin; and his daughter Mary Ann. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN and St. Ambrose Church in Godfrey.
