Frieda Belle Fernandez Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frieda Belle Fernandez of Granite City, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 20, 2025 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Frieda Belle Fernandez to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Zelbert Hayden and Martha Ann Hayden (Shelton); her husband Manuel Fernandez; her children, Robert Joe Fernandez and Tina Rena Smith; her grandsons, Joshua Carpenter and Maxwell Eberlin; her son-in-law Mike Slaton; and her siblings, Truman Hayden, Lloyd Hayden, Harley Hayden, Ivan Hayden and Frances Nadler.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Ann King (Danny) of Collinsville, Brenda Joyce Taylor of Granite City, Jovita Gail Fernandez (Emanuel) of Caseyville, Gary Lee (Sherri Colbert), Reba Faye Watkins (Michael) of Granite City, Anita Fernandez of Granite City and Maria Kim Slaton of Granite City; her son-in-law Dennis Smith of New Douglas; and her brother-in-law Gene Nadler of Cahokia, IL. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Unity Baptist Church (2500 St Clair Ave, Granite City, IL 62040). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church or charity of one's choice.
