He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter D. Schuster and Jewel J. Schuster; and his father-in-law Earl G. Bohnenstiehl. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette B. Schuster; his children, Brian M. Schuster, Elizabeth R. Hellmann (Andrew) and Emma J. Schuster; his grandchildren, Jackson M. Hellmann and Kaylyn J. Hellmann; his brothers, Mark Schuster (Gail) of Pierron, IL, Mike Schuster and Melvin Schuster; and his siblings-in-law, Eugene E. Bohnenstiehl (Linda), Margaret "Maggie" Bohnenstiehl of Grantfork, IL and Karen L. Leadbetter (James). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
