He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles H. Kassabaum and Marilyn Irene Kassabaum (Kunkel); and his brothers, Mark Kassabaum, Gary Kassabaum and Bart Kassabaum.

He is survived by : his children, Charles Kassabaum (Lisa) of Danvers, IL, Christopher Shefts (Kassabaum) of Mokena, IL and Angela Gorbett (Troy) of Georgia; and his siblings, Kurt Kassabaum of Granville, IL, Blane Kassabaum (Mellisa) of Granville, IL, Sherry Hastings (Ralph) of Texas, Patti Shimmin (David) of Bloomington, IL and Carole Terando (Ernie) of Granville, IL.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
