He was predeceased by : his daughters, Linda Hagen and Kim Hagen-Bryant; his significant other Letha Huff; and his siblings, Reynold Hagen and Delores Lasater.

He is survived by : his parents, Herman T. Hagen Sr. and Clara Hagen (Flanigan); his spouse Christina "Tina" Cunningham; and his daughter Dan. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
