Alice Robinett Obituary

Alice Margaret (Gillespie) Robinett was received by our Lord on July 30 23. She was 101 and 4 months old. She was the ninth and last surviving child of Charles E Gillespie and Ethel (Peters) Gillespie. Alice was born in Champaign Illinois living much of her youth in the Effingham Illinois area. After marring Merrill Robinett in 1941, he passed in 1989, they had four children and raised them in Henning IL. Ronald, the oldest, died at birth and Vanessa, the youngest died after several days. Alice worked in Henning school kitchen, cooking and serving the children of the area. She was famous for her contagious, smile and delicious meals. At home, her pies and cookies were always piled high and available to anyone visiting. Her personal passion was creating unique hand work, be it crafts, knitting or crocheting, then giving them away as gifts. Another passion was growing over size beautiful flowers. Upon her companions death in 2009, Russell, Chaney, Alice moved to Stuart Florida. There, she was the envy of the neighborhood with her growing beautiful orchids. In 2016 she moved into assisted living in Jensen Beach, where she continued to wow the residence with her energy and crafting abilities.

She is survive by two sons, Dennis P Robinett and wife Suzie, Leon N Robinett and wife Geri. Granddaughter, Tamara Thomas and husband Ed, grandson Gregory Robinett and wife Kerry, three step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nine step-great grand, children, and two great great granddaughters.
