With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sybil L. East of Herrin, Illinois, born in Nashville, Illinois, who passed away on August 19, 2021 at the age of 106. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Zebedee Abner and Louise Rice (Thormen); her husband Walter Preston East; her children, Kathy Woodhouse and Randall East; her son-in-law Kent Venters; and her granddaughter Terri Venters Wiens.

She is survived by : her daughters, Audrey Venters of Omaha, NE and Nancy (Dallas Burlison); and her son-in-law Joe Woodhouse of Herrin. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and the signing of executive order by the Governor of the State of Illinois, if you are planning on attending the service and/or visitation, the wearing of face masks is REQUIRED and customarily accepted social distancing guidelines is encouraged.
