He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard B. Carpenter Sr. and Judith B. Martin (Jack). He is survived by : his former life partner Kris Carpenter; his children, Zachary Carpenter (Taryn), Kloe Carpenter and Kacey Carpenter; his grandchildren, Kooper and Kamryn Carpenter; his siblings, Deborah Grant (Dick), Jay Carpenter (Sheila), Rachel Ponce (Eric) and Michelle Carpenter; and his stepmother Kimberly Carpenter. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and dear friends.

A committal service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the All Saints Cemetery (700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Richie's name to NAMI - National Alliance of Mental Illness (namiillinois.org) or to the family to offset burial expenses.
