He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Merkle and Delores Merkle. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Merkle of Highland, IL; his children, Denise Lucco (Pete Szuba) and Darren Merkle; his stepson Scott Heinz (Michele) of Highland, IL; his grandchildren, Connor Lucco, Hunter Merkle and William Heinz; his great grandchildren, Michael and Chloe Lucco; and his siblings, Laverne "Bernie" Merkle (Mary) of Highland, IL and Kathy Conrad (Kem). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
