He was predeceased by: his daughter Mary Ann Houser; and his siblings, Jesse Houser, Carol and Shirley. He is survived by: his former wife Veronica Sue Ondrey; his children, Paul W. Houser, Jr. (Robin) of Hillsboro, IL, Andy Houser (Kay) of Eagerville, IL, Julie Montgomery (Leroy) of Coffeen, IL, Jody Jackson (Harry) of Taylor Springs, IL and Paulann Egelhoff of Phoenix, AZ; and his half-brother David Houser (Linda) of New Athens, IL.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
