Layne Hayden McGinnis Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 3, 2025, at the age of 63, Layne Hayden McGinnis of Jacksonville, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parent Carroll McGinnis; his stepfather Bernard "Mac" McDonald; and his aunts, Marcia Jean Deitrick, Virginia Delaney (George), Phyllis Ann Allen (George) and Ruth McGinnis.

He is survived by: his mother Marian Deitrick McDonald (Deitrick) of Jacksonville; his brother Shaun McGinnis (Christine) of Florida; his stepsister Rachel McDonald of Florida; his nephews, Michael McGinnis (Jordan) of Florida and Steven McGinnis (Lauren) of Florida; his great-nephews, Erik and Eivin; his great-niece Emma; his aunt Wilma Werries; his uncle Thomas L. McGinnis; and his cousins, Patricia Samples (Ed), Jeffery Allen (Lisa), Les Allen (Sherry), Karin Murphy (Marvin), Leslie Howerton and Brian McGinnis (Karen).

A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Concord Cemetery.
