It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Filomena Prebeg in Joliet, Illinois, born in North Tonawanda, New York, who passed away on May 30, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Gaetano Bartolomei and Maria Bartolomei (Vittori); her siblings, Orlando Bartolomei and Louise McDaniel; her children, Anna Marie Coffey (Jeff), Matthew Prebeg (Elizabeth), Michael Prebeg, Rosemarie Sprowls (Perry), Joseph Prebeg, Guy Prebeg and Theresa Farrell (Martin); her grandchildren, Brooke Brock (Coffey), John Coffey, Jeremy Coffey (Sierra), Taren Caldwell (David), Kyle Coffey (Megan), Zachary, Maxwell, Chance Prebeg, Nick, Mia Sprowls, Dylan Rose and Ian Farrell; her great grandchildren, Tyler, Ally Owens, Cessie, Tate, Vance Caldwell, Filomena and Bron Coffey; her close friend Mabel Plese; her husband John Prebeg; and her siblings, Frances Fusco Stickney and Ceaser Bartolomei. She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews.
Due to the current pandemic restrictions, the family will celebrate Filomena's life at a private graveside service at St. Mary Nativity cemetery on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.
