He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Fran Lakota; his parents, Helen Lakota, and Louis J. Lakota, Sr.; his parents-in-law, Catherine and John H. Brennan, Jr.; and his brother-in-law John H. Brennan III.
He is survived by: his children, Louis J. Lakota III (Kristine), Maureen Krok (late Bill), Michael Lakota (Jill), Anton Lakota (Jody) and Timothy Lakota (Denise Duncan); his grandchildren, Ryan, Brady Lakota (Kassandra), Allyson, Joshua, Matthew (Anna), Alex Lakota, Megan Krok, Morgan and Brennan Lakota; his great grandchildren, Brynleigh Finnen, Beckham and Maverick Lakota; and his siblings, Jerome Lakota (Margaret), Barbara Ludwick (late Michael) and Karen McDermott (Paul). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM at the Tezak's Home (1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435). A prayer will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 9:20 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Mary Nativity Catholic Church (706 N Broadway St, Joliet, IL 60435). A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at the Saint Mary Nativity Cemetery (601 Caton Farm Rd, Lockport, IL 60441).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Louis' name to Joliet American Legion Band would be appreciated.
