Steve F. Salopek Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Steve F. Salopek (Joliet, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 20, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Steve leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Salopek and Anna Salopek; and his siblings, John Salopek (Josephine), Mike Salopek (Mary), John Prebeg (Philomena), Milan Prebeg, Rose Kennerty (Vincent), Katherine Salopek Ament (Frank), Mary Prebeg Bozicevich (Joseph), Catherine Prebeg Bartolomei (Ceasar), Ann Prebeg Brenczewski (Raymond) and Diane Govednik (William). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Mary Nativity Catholic Church (706 N Broadway St, Joliet, IL 60435). A burial will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the Saint Mary Nativity Cemetery (601 Caton Farm Rd, Lockport, IL 60441).
