He was predeceased by: his brothers, Carrol (Gus) and Sam; and his sister-in-law Jean German. He is survived by: his daughter Kris Atwell (Cal) of Geneseo, IL; and his sister-in-law Maurine German of Forsyth, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Kewanee or to Hammond Henry Hospital Foundation, Geneseo.
