She was predeceased by: her parents, Maik and Petrulla; her husband Russell W. Smith; and her siblings, Doras Ptasnik, Fred Ptasnik, Don Mills (Mary), Leonard Slock (Tatiana), Lizzie Beauprez and Frank Costenson (Elaine).
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Cohen (Brad) of Athens Ohio, Jodi Karau (Denny), Heidi Shimmin of Kewanee and Todd Smith of Kewanee; her grandchildren, Jessica Hanson, Sarah Hanson, Jacob Cohen, Jamie Cohen, Zakary Shimmin, Kyra Shimmin, Nichole Karau and Joey Karau; and her great grandchildren, Noah Hanson, Jordan and Kaiden Karau.
